I want to start off by saying that I am in no way a game developer. As a consumer, I feel I have the right to critique the industry as I see fit. Since the development of the first console or gaming platform, the industry has evolved to fit the average consumer in many ways except in the area of add-on downloadable content. It seems that this medium has in many ways been used as a way to supplement games that may not otherwise make it to market if it all had to be packaged into one game and one release date. I think that if the game developers took a little extra time in development and waited until it was ready or at least ninety percent ready we wouldn't have things such as first hour patches and half made DLC. I realize that there are such things as developer deadlines and publisher forced completions but I think the individuals in the industry on the consumer side and development side need to work towards constraining the money hungry business men and women that just want to jump in this industry and make a quick buck off of the consumer that has a certain amount of trust in the developers already established. To put it simply the consumer needs to do the research required to purchase games that are quality and not just hyped. The developers need to work to be sure to provide a good game and experience for the user without trying to 'nickel and dime' each individual user into making them rich off a mediocre game that put little into and expect a huge payout.

The device you plan on using with the cardboard must match the design that is in place for the Cardboard layout.

The phone pictured below is a Samsung Galaxy S5 and if you fold the cardboard up (with the Otter-box off) the magnet lines up with the camera. This magnet should be lined up with the white portion next to the camera in order to work as planned. You can pull the magnet off the side and wave it near the white portion on the top of the phone or you could stick your fingers through the holes to press the screen.

You can also use it with the Otter-Box on the phone but the downside to that is the Velcro won't latch together so you have to physically hold the phone onto the cardboard.

If you plan on just making basic calls and occasionally sending a text then a smartphone may not be the best choice. Even though smartphones are "cool" they are often not used to there full potential meaning that the owner of the phone would be better off saving some cash and going with a basic phone instead.

In order to decide what type of phone you want you will need to decide what service provider is right for your area and application. While Verizon is a widely known and reliable provider it may not cover enough of the area you will be using the phone. The best way to choose which carrier is right for your area is to ask your friends that are in your area what they have and if they get good service in the area. Your friend will most likely know how well their phone service is doing, but if not each service provider will have what is called a service map that will tell you which areas are covered. These maps can be found online or by visiting a local store.

Just because everyone wants the latest phone does not mean that this phone is, in fact, the best phone or the one most likely to meet your needs. That being said the current phones that fits that description is the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the Iphone 5. The best approach for finding the phone that meets you needs is to decide what you will be doing with your phone and then match it to a phone that will do this.

If you are a constant texter then you should decide if you like the feel of a touchscreen vs a keyboard. There are combination phones that have both the touchscreen and the keyboard so that you can decide each time you type.

Surfing the web with a phone can be expensive if you don't have an unlimited data plan. People who constantly surf the web normally use touchscreens for mobile devices because it allows for a easier navigation process than a strictly keyboard phone would.

If playing games is what you think you will be doing the most. You should check into an Sony Xperia play phone which allows calls and texts but also includes a console style control where a sliding keyboard would be.

The overall experience of a smartphone can be fun but also controlling. Those who spend hours checking there phone or playing games on it while "spending time" with their friends can be considered rude. So, that being said, if you decide to but a smartphone make sure that you control it instead of it controlling you.

The Cyberleak Minecraft Mario Build took four people around five hours to construct all eighteen characters. Recording was done in one shot which took roughly an hour long. The orignal video file was 20gb (gigabytes) and the video file after editing was just under 1gb. Originally the video was shot in the reverse order than it is now seen on Youtube. The creations where torn down quickly so that the video could be reversed to make it look as if they where built just as quickly. The map file can be downloaded here (Click FILE Download). At that speed you could type this article in 5 Minutes. I type about 26 words per minute. The ability to type fast is helpful in a few jobs. Secretaries and people that work with computers in an office are required to type 50-60 words per minute. If you want to find out how fast you type try going to this site. If you did not meet your goal in the test you may want to try improving your speed in Mavis Beacon. Mavis Beacon is a typing program that helps you position your hands correctly on the keyboard and type more efficiently without looking. I used to have to focus on not staring at the keyboard when I typed but this program has helped tremendously. Good luck and happy typing!

A good game will keep someone playing for hours and not think about the time they are spending. The last game I played was Garrys Mod and I played it for several hours. This game has so many possibilities that it is hard to walk away from. If you are a game developer you have a fine line to walk between making the game challenging and making your player want to quit. The more fun the player has the longer they will play and the more people they will suggest the game to.
Being the bloodiest or the fastest paced game is not always a good thing. Monotonous games tend to get boring after the millionth time of completing a task to get the same result. One of the best ways to get someone to continue playing your game is to make it possible for them to see progress, like a percentage of the game done or an amount of money aquired. If the player feels like they are accomplishing something they will be able to put off real life tasks to devote time to there game.
All this being said, games come and go as anything does and it is hard to predict what game will trend. One thing that is sure is that there will always be new games to spend your money on.
Leave a comment below letting me know what game you like and why you do.
JamesTwelchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08360772656007613440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890002729981143524.post-41581436278470050412011-11-21T10:13:00.001-08:002011-11-21T10:58:50.708-08:00Four Useful Android Applications. In this article I will cover four applications on the Android Market that I use every day.

The First application takes the place of the Android operating system. I like to use Go Launcher EX to
launch the different apps I have installed on my phone because it gives me many options for customizing.
For instance I can make and icon have two separate functions such as open one app if I press it and open
a completely different one if I drag my finger over it. So if you are tired of the Android operating system
I highly recommend Go Launcher.

Secondly, I would like to recommend the app Handcent SMS to take the place of your regular texting application.
This gives you the ability to set ,not only separate ring-tones for people but, separate text tones as well. It
functions great with Go launcher and the droid launcher as well.

For the third app I would have to recommend that you change your normal browser over to Dolphin Browser. This allows you
to download different apps inside the browser much like Google chrome for your computer does. It also includes gestures
which makes it possible for you to draw a shape on the screen and open a webpage based on that gestures target.

Fourth and finally I would like to introduce you to Vlingo. Vlingo is your personal assistant that can send texts, update your status, call your family members and open you navigation for you. All you have to do is download this application and say "Hey Vlingo!". This app is much like Siri and will one day take the place of any human thinking on there own again.

Thank you for your interest in this article! I will post links to all the mentioned apps below this line of text.
Leave a comment if you please.

If I just left it at that, this article would be complete. I will elaborate a little so that those of you who will never play it may still appreciate it. The multi-player levels are well planned out and are easy to navigate. In this game you will rarely get stuck in the ground or see vehicles launched in the air like they did in the beta release. The realistic facets of the game add a lot more than they take away. If I was to complain about one thing it would be the fact that I don't win every round. Honestly I can not see to much wrong with this game. The creators of this game have come a long way from the Battlefield that came out in 2008. Let me know in the comments what you think about this game or what game you want me to review next! I leave you with a video of the single player played by yours truly.
This was especially surprising because I don't even own an X-box. I played it with a friend that owns the game on my cousins X-box. We only played multi-player and we switched off depending on who was the player with the lowest score.

Needless to say, I stayed in the entire time and was able to win every game. The most looked forward to item seems to be the RC Car that you see race across the map and explode below an unsuspecting enemy. I tend to favor the ability to change the red dot sight on each of your guns instead. In addition to changing your sights you can also change the way you look and what you wear on multi-player on one console without leveling up. This gives everyone the ability to copy and use the best weapons that are freely available to everyone. For instance, if I was to go to my friends house and play him on his Ps3 I could chose the exact same gun and perks as I had on the Xbox without having to level up on his Ps3. No matter what system your playing on from the Ps3 to the Wii you will love this game if you liked any of the other Call of Duties. Sadly the only thing I did not try is the dolphin dive because I did not know of it then. Next time I shall dive in every direction.
In this article I will be mentioning four servers that I ventured through on my quest to find some decent servers to play on. Each of these servers will have pictures with them showing them the cool stuff you can find on them.

Server #1 the coolest server I found with the nicest community has to be by the Admin: ADW and his City Themed Server.

Server #2 is the one I found a huge picture of a Poke-ball made completely from blocks that took the Owner: NukaCola1000 a whole day to make! My most favorite creation of his is this:

Mario by NukaCola1000 on Minecraft Classic.

I'm not sure how long this took him but it is my favorite creation of his. As for the Poke-ball, it may still be there if you go to his server and check out the art section.

Server #3 is by a guy named "Facepalm." I did not actually talk to Facepalm but I did talk to a guy named Nanam98 and he showed me two sprites that took him four hours apiece to make. He made them without using speedhacks which allow you to fly. His first sprite is Mario as well and they are both awesome.
game mode. This game can be found at Minecraft.net. If you want to go ahead and check the game out have fun but for the rest of you who want to know more about this game just continue reading.

This game represents the most fun I have had with one game in a while. I have spent a few hours playing this game and may have this close to an exact science. In the next section I will explain step by step how to get started in Minecraft.

When you first spawn you should keep a few things in mind. You will always need wood and you need to build a house close to your spawn point because you may die. As soon as you spawn the clock starts ticking towards night and you only have a few real time minutes to make some sort of shelter from zombies. Once you make your shelter the first night and are hiding away you may notice that your house got darker even though you cut a few holes for windows. The second most important thing you will need is coal but you cannot mine coal until you have some sort of pick axe. Remember that wood you collected from that tree? Press "i" (for inventory) on your keyboard and place the raw wood harvested from the tree in one of the top right boxes. If you left clicked you will see planks with the number four pop up in the box to the right of those boxes. Click on the planks until you have no more raw wood or until the plank number reaches 64 (the max number of stackable items in one box). Then left click the planks to pick them up and drop one in each of the four blocks to build a workbench. This work bench will give you the workspace to make a pick axe out of wood and other things like ladders and storage boxes. To make a pick axe you will need sticks and in order to make them you need planks. Take you planks and stack them one on top of the other, this will give you four sticks. Then take your sticks and stack one on top of the other then line you planks across the top row to make a wooden pick axe. If you take the time to look at how it is made you should understand that the shape of the object is important to take note of so you know how it is made. In the morning you can take the wooden pick axe out and collect some stone. Making stone pick axes is the same as wooden ones but you have to replace the planks with stone (cobblestone). Stone picks make it easier and faster to mine things but will not mine things like redstone or diamond. You will need to smelt iron for that but for that you will need to make an oven to accomplish the smelting. An oven is made by outlining the box of your workbench with stone. As you can see this game is fairly complicated and requires some thought and strategy. These qualities of the game coupled with the randomely generated world make this game almost impossible to become boring. If you made it this far I hope you enjoyed this article outlining the basics of Minecraft by Mark Persson.JamesTwelchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08360772656007613440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890002729981143524.post-13878626684520534752010-10-26T21:24:00.000-07:002010-10-26T21:24:04.710-07:00Dlvr.it Automatic Posting Website.Dlvr.it is a website that allows you to automatically post to Twitter and Facebook and a number of other sites automatically! The only game mode at this time is deathmatch but even against the bots it is pretty fun. I tried one other game that is on facebook about paintball and if you ask me I would rather play this one. If you have ever played the original Red Faction or Red Faction 2 for playstation I would suggest you play this. It is tons of fun. Now I'm going to go play a few more rounds while you search for it on Google!JamesTwelchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08360772656007613440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8890002729981143524.post-75001212947969671762010-10-26T16:13:00.000-07:002010-10-26T16:23:36.359-07:00Commenting Made EasierIn the search for a new site to allow my readers to comment easier I found an amazing site called Disqus. I would have posted it sooner but it is to amazing! Caution: you may play this for hours.
It has no way of saving the tones to Mp3 which is sad but you can copy and paste code onto the flash box to make crazy sounds.
